George Westinghouse won the bid to supply AC electrical power for the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893 by contracting at 1/3 the proposed cost of General Electric for DC current.
Twenty- seven (27) Million Americans visited the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893 — The World’s Columbian Exposition where MacNeil’s statue holding a bolt of electricity was a part of the Electricity Building.
